Meet Leslye
For nearly a decade, I served in Prince George’s County Government, where I worked behind the scenes to make sure our systems delivered results that mattered for our residents. I developed and defended County budgets, strengthened procurement and grants management, and led policy, evaluation, and strategic planning efforts. Most importantly, I helped design and assess programs and systems that drove positive outcomes for children, youth, and families; supported seniors and individuals with disabilities; and strengthened public safety in our communities.
Beyond government, I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector, giving me a front-row view of how communities come together to solve tough challenges when resources are limited. I know what it means to stretch every dollar, build partnerships, and deliver programs that directly improve lives.
In the community, I’ve rolled up my sleeves as an organizer, working side by side with neighbors to move the needle on policies that matter to families across Prince George’s County—policies like Safe Harbor protections for survivors of trafficking, Paid Family Leave for working parents and caregivers, and Rent Stabilization to help keep housing affordable for seniors and families.
I understand how, in tight times, budgets determine our priorities—and I understand the impact when legislators put pen to paper and decisions move from the page to people’s lives.
With experience spanning government, nonprofits, and grassroots organizing, I bring the skills, knowledge, and proven commitment needed to serve District 9 effectively. That combination of expertise and community connection is what qualifies me to lead.
